Isla’s Story

Isla’s Story

Isla’s Story

Isla was born four weeks premature, weighing only three pounds, fifteen ounces. Fortunately, she was healthy and remained in the neonatal intensive care unit for only three weeks. Once home, though, Isla’s parents noticed that she was not meeting all of her developmental milestones. After a visit to a neurologist and a brain MRI, her parents learned that Isla had underdeveloped white matter in her brain, a condition that lead to her diagnosis of ataxic cerebral palsy and global developmental delays. Watch how hard she works to reach beyond the boundaries that nature set for her. She is a special girl who doesn’t understand the word, “cant.”

NCEFT: HORSES. HOPE. HEALING.

Horses. Hope. Healing. Three simple words that when combined have the power to transform lives. NCEFT is centered around helping people. We are about compassion, inclusiveness, and offering the highest level of service to those in need. We do this by harnessing the unique connection between horses and humans. NCEFT is also about community. Many of our clients and families describe NCEFT as a place that feels like home with people who feel like family.
