Life Review

Life Review

Life Review

As human beings living in a complex world, our lives are shaped by many chapters, experiences, and relationships. Rarely do we pause to reflect on our past and revisit our story — yet doing so can offer powerful insight and meaning.

In this Life Review program, participants engage in eight individual sessions with a licensed therapist and a therapy horse. While grooming and interacting with the horse, clients reflect on meaningful life experiences — from childhood through adulthood — exploring events and relationships that have shaped who they are. This process creates space to process the past and, when helpful, develop a clearer or renewed personal narrative.

Through guided reflection, participants often gain deeper insight into their strengths, values, and life direction. As one participant shared, “I’ve gained a better understanding of myself in looking back at my experiences. I have a deeper connection to who I am now as a result of this process.”

An essential part of Life Review is the presence of the therapy horse and the natural setting. Horses offer steady, nonjudgmental companionship, bringing calm and acceptance as participants reflect. Another participant described experiencing “a majestic peace being with the horses” and “a feeling of being connected to nature and something bigger than ourselves.”

Program Details:
