of the roof and damage.
Trees, green grass, filtered sunlight, the soft nickers of gentle horses—all surrounding a magnificent cream-colored barn with a classic gambrel roof.
This is the welcoming scene that greets NCEFT’s patients and their families every week.
Nestled close to NCEFT’s covered arena, the barn is our central hub of operations. It protects our horses and houses our offices, therapy clinic and on-site caretakers. On weekdays, it’s full of lively energy, greetings and laughter as patients come and go.
It’s the launching pad for therapy programs that make a transformative difference to so many people.
Long ago, NCEFT’s property was a dairy farm, and our beautiful main barn is original to that time. But at 100-years old, the barn is showing its age. The second-story roof is decades old, and this hard winter resulted in leaks and extensive damage.
Nearly five years ago, we replaced the roof on the lower barn level. Now we need to finish the job!
Visitors to NCEFT’s property always comment on its serenity and beauty. The families of our patients call it a place of respite. For our staff, volunteers and hard-working horses, we do everything we can to make sure it is comfortable, safe and sustainable.
