The Mental Health & Resilience Summer Internship Program provides undergraduate students pursuing a mental health degree the opportunity to learn about equine-assisted Mental Health & Resilience services. Interns will learn how a nonprofit organization functions, how clinical services are developed and measured, will be provided the opportunity to work on a multi-disciplinary team, and much more!
NCEFT is interested in providing learning opportunities to underserved communities. This internship seeks to expose and train individuals who may not have the opportunity to learn in such a unique environment to help prepare them for future roles in the Mental Health field.
Interns are exposed to a diverse range of clients from a variety of backgrounds, such as veterans, first responders, children, adolescents, and adults experiencing mental health challenges. Interns are trained to help facilitate services and to understand equine-assisted interventions. Interns work closely with the Mental Health & Resilience Team to assist in both the office and in Workshops.
NCEFT offers services to all who qualify regardless of socioeconomic status. The ability to provide services to underserved populations is an important part of the fabric of NCEFT.
